2020 Annual Meeting Recap

“Welcome to your 2020 Annual Meeting, virtual for the first-time ever.” These were the opening words of your Board Chairman’s Report, presented by Mike Lewin.

The meeting wrapped with Mike noting, “Hopefully virtual for the last time ever.”

The meeting was well-attended for a virtual event with 32 attendees. There were minor hiccups with some sound feedback but all-in-all, the presentation went very well.

During his presentation, Board Chairman Mike Lewin noted, “At the beginning of 2019, your credit union was well-positioned at $148 million in assets. We began 2020 with $164 million in assets and presently we’re at $187 million in assets. Your credit union staff and Board have done an amazing job especially considering all the challenges that 2020 has brought.” Also featured during the Chairman’s Report was the new ATM in Aberdeen, located across from the branch location - along with the announcement of the credit union’s participation in a new ATM network, which allows GNWFCU cardholders to withdraw from over 80,000 ATMs nationwide surcharge-free. The ATM locator can be found here.

Also very exciting for your credit union was the membership expansion which was covered by President/CEO Doug Page. “As you may recall, our field of membership expansion was approved by the NCUA in 2018 to include Mason, Lewis and Wahkiakum counties. We opened our first branch in 20 years with our new Chehalis location.”

The meeting also included reports from your Supervisory Committee Chairman, Denny Evans and a Treasurer’s Report from Ken Cummings. The meeting wrapped up just before 6:30 and concluded with 10 door prize drawings for $67 each as this was the 67th Annual Membership Meeting.

The recorded meeting is available to view here. If you have any questions about the meeting or if you’re interested in becoming a Board volunteer, you can contact Doug Page at 360-533-9990 x 119 or email at doug@greatnwfcu.com.

Thank you to all who attended - hopefully we’ll see you in person next year!
